I wrote this song one afternoon after hearing some bummer news about a long time friend. They had been involved in some dishonest behavoir. Unforatunately, this had become more of a pattern for this individual. As I sat thinking about this, I was filled with many emotions. These ranged from anger, pity, disregard, to absolutle confusion. I wondered if they had thought about the effects their actions would have on others around them. Although, they were not directly trying to hurt me, I felt pain and hurt as if they were. I think that if we really understood the impact that our behavoir has on those close to us, that we would act very differently. This song simply explores these issues. Do they know how many people are disappointed when they make really poor decisions. Do they know how their true friends feel when they exercise poor judgement. Do they know how their kids will feel when they learn of what they have done. How can someone engage in dishonesty, at any level, if they understand this. I hope that this song will help us all to remember the impact our actions have on those that are close to us and even those who are not. Maybe we will think twice, be kinder, have more patience, a stronger resolve, -- maybe we will become just a little more then what we were the day before, and not a lot less.
